In
Australia there is a dual system of public and private health insurance,
which is called 'Medicare' and it is financed by contributions that are automatically calculated based on (income-) tax rate. This contribution payment is very low, namely 1.5% of gross wage. This means that the accomplishments of the so-called 'medicare' system
are limited. Dentist visits and hospital transportations are not covered
at all, and for most other medical services you have to pay extra.
Only people with a permanent Australian residence permit get accepted
for this insurance.
