Our services and the history of our company
Together with Helbich GmbH in Hamburg, Adelheid Helbich and Nikolaus Helbich, Ph.D., have specialized in the sector of health insurances on the international consulting and assistance of their clients since 1987. Next to the acquisition and assistance of clients in Germany, the consultation focuses on clients with various nationalities that do not live in their home country but live in European- and non-European countries.
Our area of expertise is the international health insurance coverage for companies, expatriates, families, self-employed persons, freelancers, retirees, students, au-pairs, young people and globetrotters.

German Health Plans Worldwide Inc. has relocated the office from New York to Cape May, New Jersey in 2009. Adelheid Helbich (Insurance Broker, BWV) and Nikolaus Helbich, Ph.D., founded their own company in the sector of insurance and finance in 1987. In 1990 Helbich GmbH in Hamburg was founded and due to many requests from international clients the customer base grew steadily
At that time first contacts were made to different chambers of commerce. Adelheid Helbich and PHD Nikolaus Helbich have specialized, next to other sectors, on the niche business the consultation in the sector of health insurance for Germans with place of residence in the whole world. Increased stays in the USA since 1995 lead in 2001 to the foundation of German Health Plans Worldwide, Inc. with its office in New York City. Because of the close collaboration with different chambers of commerce as for example with the German American Chamber of Commerce in New York, more and more clients and companies are consulted in the sector of health insurances.
In autumn 2010 some changes occurred. Nikolaus Helbich dropped off his position as CFO at German Health Plans Worldwide and started a new carrier. Adelheid Helbich is nowadays the only CEO from German Health Plans Worldwide Inc. The focus is now even more oriented on the international level. The website gets a whole new image, exactly like the business stream.
